Sōke of Mugai Ryu Meirin-Ha

Chikaoka Sōke

I was born on January 5, 1960, in Yamagata Province, North Japan.
At the age of 8 I started the Kendo training, which was followed at this young age in the following year by a study of archaeology with the priest Sakenobe-Kyokusho, renowned in Japan. At the age of 10 my training in Zen began under the guidance of priest Nindo, and two years later, in 1972, teachings in the art of Judo were added. Unfortunately, in 1977 a serious traffic accident forced me to suspend my training in the above three teachings until my complete recovery.
I started Mugairyu Iaido in group of Shiokawa Houshou Sensei. It was clear to me that I wanted to learn this wonderful and fascinating martial art and so I was able to make fast progress with my previous knowledge. In 2007 I was awarded the 6th Dan, Reishi of Mugairyu-Iaido and I opened my own Dojo, the „Keizankai Dojo“ in Tokyo. Since the 29.10.2014 by passed exam, I am now 7th Dan and can now also take Dan exams. Now after years of learning I decided to found the Meirin Mugai Ryu Style. All necessary exams were taken.
I would be very happy to welcome you at my place.

You are welcome to me cordially.
